DIY Wedding Shower Centerpieces -
Rustic Log Candles

DIY Wedding Shower Centerpieces

While on vacation, the place we stayed had the cutest rustic log candle holders displayed throughout the cabin. I fell in love with them and instantly knew I had to have them. Looking around town, many stores sold them but for a ridiculous price. Right then and there, thinking of a way to make them myself was a must. With a little help from my handy husband of course!

The candles have an outdoorsy feel so they would work well for a natural or green bridal shower. Dress them up with leaves for fall, pine branches or holly berries for winter, little bird nest for spring, and flowers for the summer.

log candle centerpiece materials

Materials Needed:

  • 3 different sized logs - preferably birch logs
(I used cedar logs since birch does not grow around us) My logs measured 8 1/2 inches, 6 1/2 inches, and 4 1/2 inches tall. They varied from 3-4 inch circumferences.I prefer to have different heights to create a staggered look.
  • 3 tealight candles or battery operated tealights
  • Hand drill or drill press
  • Forstner drill bit preferably ( A 1-7/8 inch spade drill bit will work too)

Log Candle Instructions:

Step #1- Drill a hole in the top of each log deep enough to fit the tealight.

Step #2- Place a tealight in each hole and group the logs together.

That's all there is to it! These rustic log candle holders would make perfect wedding shower centerpieces, favors, or just to have around in your home!

**Side Note- I tried to make this my project but as soon as I entered the garage, it became my husband's. So I must thank him for all his handy skills. Maybe someday he'll let me use his power tools!
