Easy Chocolate Caramel Cupcakes

My friend gave this recipe to me and it is so easy and very good! You can't go wrong with caramel.


1 box chocolate cake mix (eggs, water, and oil are usually required with cake mix)

24 caramels
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts or pecans (whichever you prefer)

1 tub chocolate frosting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Prepare the cake mix according to the box directions. Fill lined cupcake pan with batter only 1/3 full. Set remaining batter aside. Bake for 7 minutes or until top of the cupcake is set.

Press one caramel into each cupcake - sprinkle with some nuts and chocoloate chips. Add remaining batter to the top. Bake 15-20 minutes longer or until toothpick comes out clean.

Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack and cool completely before frosting with chocolate frosting.
