DIY Centerpiece - Soup Can Vases

Start saving up your soup cans and turn them into one-of-a-kind vases! An easy, inexpensive way to add a unique touch to the party.

These soup can vases were made to hand out on May Day (May 1) but can be customized to use for any occassion. Use as vases to decorate the party or hand out as favors for the guests to take home.

A Little About May Day

Growing up we would make flower baskets for our neighbors and then knock on their doors and run away and hide - leaving the flower baskets for them to enjoy. We watched from the bushes as they opened the door and were suprised with the beautiful baskets. It was so much fun and now I have passed it onto my children. Apparantely, this is an American May Day tradition that not many people know about, I thought my mom had made it up:)

  • Simply cut a piece of burlap or other fun fabric to fit the soup can.

  • Hot glue the burlap/fabric onto the soup can

  • Add some ribbon, if you'd like

Voila! A unique way to display flowers
